PRESENTATION
Kursaal develops its own program of shows under the KursaalEszena brand.
KursaalEszena organizes musical cultural activities of the highest quality and prestige and proposes a careful program of activities designed with three different groups in mind: seniors, young-adults and families.
This is funded by San Sebastian City Council and the Provincial Chartered Council of Gipuzkoa (public capital) and the most representative companies of the Basque Country (private capital) in perfect coexistence.
OBJECTIVE
KursaalEszena aims to expand and revitalize the cultural offer of Donostia-San Sebastian and Gipuzkoa, offering rich and varied programs available to everybody, in order to enhance the image of our historical territory and its capital as driving forces of culture.
KursaalEszena is the best point for the leading companies of the Basque Country to connect with society through culture.
PROGRAM
The program of KursaalEszena is made up of thirty concerts distributed in two seasons: one from October to January and the second from February to June, with an average audience of 85%.
The best symphonic orchestras in the world coexist with solo recitals of artists who triumph at the moment. There is not a single living conductor of prestige who has not passed in these 17 years by the Kursaal. Classical music has a thousand season-ticket buyers.
The Kursaal is the perfect venue for performers, as diverse as jazz and dance stars, pop and rock groups, mythical singer-songwriters, legendary guitarists and rock icons, as well as the most beloved artists of Basque music.
Children are a public especially pampered for the program of KursaalEszena, to which they dedicate both concerts specially thought for them and theatre, puppets, dance or magic. The quality and the pedagogical spirit of the shows are two constants in this section in which the playful aspect is not forgotten. The best option to enjoy with the family.
