Sílvia Pérez Cruz (vocals, guitar, keyboards, synthesizers), Carlos Montfort (violin, percussion, backing vocals), Marta Roma (cello, trumpet, backing vocals), Bori Albero (double bass, backing vocals)

Sílvia Pérez Cruz is a unique artist. Ever since releasing her first solo album 11 De Novembre (2012), she has continued to notch up acclaim and success, constantly evolving and always taking untrodden paths, with an astonishing ability to tackle different styles while maintaining her unmistakable personal stamp, prodigious vocal register and natural stage charm. Hers is undoubtedly one of the most impressive voices of recent times. The singer, who grew up listening to Spanish and Latin American songs, started learning music at the age of 4, following an education in classical music and Jazz. She studied music language, the saxophone, piano, cajon, harmony, Jazz and flamenco performance, improvisation  arrangement, composition… going on to graduate in Jazz singing at the ESMUC. Over her career she has collaborated with artists such as Eliseo Parra, Lluís Llach, Gino Paoli, Stefano Bollani, Rocio Molina, Marco Mezquida, Jorge Drexler, Hamilton de Holanda, Toquinho, Joan Manuel Serrat, Javier Colina, Raül Refree…
For this concert, her sixth performance at the Jazzaldia, the Catalan artist will present her latest album: Toda la vida, un día (2023).

During lockdown, Pérez Cruz felt the need to recreate her whole life in a single album, embarking on what would become a year-long work recorded in Barcelona, Pontós, Madrid, Jerez, Buenos Aires, Coatepec and Havana. A monumental work encompassing 5 movements (one for each stage of our lives), 21 songs and 90 musicians featuring, to name but a few, Juan Quintero, Natalia Lafourcade, Liliana Herrero, Carmen Linares, Pepe Habichuela, Salvador Sobral… Everything is big on the album, yet it all comes down to that circle of life seen through the eyes of Pérez Cruz. “Each of the five movements
represents a stage: childhood, youth, maturity, old age and rebirth, because I want it to be circular; that’s why the cover is a circle and also why I liked the idea of ending with a lullaby”, explains the Catalan Singer and composer.
