More than 200 performers will take the stage of the Kursaal to offer the Great Mass for the Dead, a Berlioz work of enormous dimensions which included 400 musicians at its premiere. Although Berlioz was not a believer and the Requiem was commissioned by the French government as a tribute to soldiers fallen in the Revolution of July 1830, it is one of his most brilliant creations.
