LUBMAT was a joint initiative between TEKNIKER and the JOST Institute of Lubrication and Tribology. Both realised that, although there were numerous international congresses dealing with the scientific approach to lubrication and wear, there were none specifically focused on industry. So LUBMAT aims to address the industrial audience without losing sight of the academic and scientific vision.

Thus, in the 2024 edition, in addition to Bureau Veritas, which joined the original organisers a few editions ago, Atten2 will join the event, whose contribution will undoubtedly reinforce the interest in the congress among industrial attendees.

Similarly, IBERTRIB is a biennial symposium that brings together researchers working in Tribology from Spain and Portugal, alternating the venue between the two countries.

Otherwise, LUBMAT is a consolidated event now in its 9th edition, while IBERTRIB is celebrating its 12th edition.
