La Cetra Baroque Orchestra & Vocalconsort Basel present “Johannes Passion” by Bach, marking the third centenary of its premiere in the Holy Week of 1724. They pay homage to a masterpiece and its composer, bridging a time tunnel between the Holy Week of 2024 and that of 1724, allowing us to hear “Johannes Passion” very similarly to how the residents of Leipzig heard it 300 years ago.
