San Sebastián International Film Festival

The San Sebastian Festival, which last year attracted more than 150,000 spectators and 5,000 film industry professionals, will hold its 72nd edition from 20 to 28 September 2023. In addition to the Official Selection, in which several films compete for the coveted Golden Shell, other sections of the festival include New Directors, Horizontes Latinos, Zabaltegi-Tabakalera, Perlak, Nest, Culinary Zinema, Made in Spain and Zinemira. In addition to hosting the Official Selection screenings, the Kursaal Auditorium is the venue for the opening and closing galas and the Donostia Award ceremony, the most important honorary distinction of the event, which this year will go to the actress Cate Blanchett and the director Pedro Almodóvar. The Kursaal Centre also hosts press conferences and other presentations, as well as being the headquarters of the Festival’s Industry Department.
