Yerai Cortés (born in Alicante, in 1995) belongs to that new generation of artists who are taking flamenco into unknown and exciting territory. In spite of his youth, he already has quite a track record, having collaborated with artists of the most diverse genres: from those breaking new ground in flamenco or seeking to renew it, the likes of Rocío Molina and Niño de Elche, to musicians from very diverse horizons, like Judeline, Ralphie Choo, Lola Íñigo and C. Tangana, whom he accompanied on his Sin cantar ni afinar tour. The film, La guitarra flamenca de Yerai Cortes, was also all about Yerai Cortes, featuring the man himself, and was the opera prima of Antón Álvarez (better known as C. Tangana, when wearing his musical hat). The film earned a special mention in the New Directors section of the 72nd edition of the San Sebastian International Film Festival.
With his new project, Guitarra Coral, the young guitarist, accompanied by a chorus of hand-clapping artists, succeeds in pushing the bounds of flamenco, putting together a spectacle that blends the aesthetic ideas of the classical, the traditional and the avant-garde.
