NALA SINEPHRO

Nala Sinephro (harp), Dwayne Kilvington (synth bass), Natcyet Wakili (drums), Chelsea Carmichael (sax)

Nala Sinephro’s childhood was spent in Belgium, surrounded by nature, with her mother, a teacher of classical piano, and father, a saxophonist. After a brief passage through The Berkley College of Music, then a stint working as a sound engineer, she decided to settle in the north of London, where she began a successful musical career as a composer and harpist, and also started collaborating with many artists prominent on the London Jazz scene: Nubya García, Shabaka Hutchings, James Mollison, Jake Long, Twm Dylan, Wonky Logic, Sheila Maurice-Grey, Morgan Simpson, James Mollison, Lyle Barton, Natcyet Wakili…

Nala Sinephro has released, to date, two albums. The first, Space 1.8, in 2021, was a great success with critics and public alike. The second, Endlessness, came out in 2024. With just these two works, Sinephro is already considered, as a performer, composer and producer, one of the most important figures in the evolution of Jazz and electronic music today. Her music, hypnotic and mesmerising, calm and enveloping, plays with textures and atmospheres, and is full layers so well woven together that listening to it one becomes immersed in an infinite space filled with sound landscapes and ethereal atmospheres conducive to reflection. Her style could be defined as experimental electronic ambient Jazz.

Sinephro, who plays mainly the harp, the synthesizer and the piano, is an artist whose work explores the borders of modern music, defying established limits to create works of immense beauty, often nostalgic and almost always minimalist. Without doubt one of the most fascinating creators contemporary music has seen.
