The 25th anniversary of the Kursaal Conference Centre and Auditorium is the main feature of the ONCE coupon for Wednesday 21 August, an event that will be reflected in a total of five and a half million coupons. Usue Vallejo, ONCE delegate in the Basque Country and Iker Goikoetxea, general manager of the Kursaal, have presented this coupon with which the Organisation joins in the various events that will celebrate this anniversary throughout the year.
The Kursaal Conference Centre was officially opened on 23 August 1999. Designed by the architect Rafael Moneo, it is located on the site occupied by the Gran Kursaal building from 1922 until its demolition in the 1970s, at the mouth of the River Urumea.
The Kursaal has always welcomed us with open doors,’ said Usue Vallejo. We at ONCE Euskadi have always felt supported at the congresses and different events in which we have taken part, as well as in the traditional Rattlesnake Race that we organise every year in the vicinity of the cubes, with the citizens of San Sebastian putting on their masks and running blindly around the Kursaal cubes already being an emblem’.
For his part, Iker Goikoetxea stressed that ‘we are very excited to be featured on the ONCE coupon and for our anniversary to reach thousands of people. We feel honoured to be part of this initiative and to be recognised by an organisation that carries out such important social work. ONCE, with its dedication and commitment, stands as a fundamental pillar of solidarity, offering support and opportunities to countless people’.
It should be noted that this is the second time that ONCE has dedicated a coupon to the Kursaal, as it was also the protagonist of the Cuponazo of 9 December 2005.
On this occasion, the draw corresponds to a Daily Coupon, and offers a prize of 500,000 euros for the number plus the series and 49 prizes of 35,000 euros for the five digits of the winning number. In addition, 450 prizes of 250 euros for the first four digits and another 450 prizes for the last four digits; 9,000 prizes of 25 euros for the last three or first three digits; and the same for the first two and last two digits (6 euros) and 2 euros for the first or last digit of the winning number.
ONCE coupons are sold by more than 20,000 ONCE sales agents. They can also be purchased at www.juegosonce.es and in authorised collaborating establishments.
