The Kursaal Conference Centre in San Sebastian celebrates its 25th anniversary this year, highlighting its significant impact on the economy and cultural life of Gipuzkoa. Since its opening in 1999, Kursaal has hosted more than 6,700 events with an attendance of more than ten million people, contributing more than 25 times the initial investment to the Gipuzkoan economy.
With an estimated economic impact of 1,559 million euros in GDP, Kursaal has become a driving force for economic development. Its success is reflected in the organisation of 3,686 meetings and 3,014 cultural events. In addition, it has managed to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction, with an average rating of 8.86 out of 10.
Kursaal is the venue for important festivals such as the San Sebastian Festival and the Musical Fortnight. It has received multiple certifications, including the AIPC Gold Certificate and the EFQM Silver Q, highlighting its commitment to quality and sustainability.
The palace has managed to self-finance its activities, even during the pandemic, and has invested 11.3 million euros in infrastructure improvements, including the installation of solar panels in 2023.
With an eye to the future, Kursaal is focusing on sustainability and digitalisation, as well as attracting international business to continue to be a benchmark in the organisation of events and congresses.
