● Kursaal is once again working with Tabakalera, and specifically with its space for experimentation and citizen creation, Medialab, to develop a new digital art proposal.
● Alba G. Corral is the author of Estel, an art piece created with programming algorithms and digital painting in real time.
The Kursaal Convention Centre and Tabakalera are collaborating for the second year running to make the Christmas lighting of the iconic façade of the Conference Centre a digital art creation. The two institutions, in their commitment to innovation and cultural dissemination, have joined forces for the fourth time to develop a new artistic proposal, and so the façade will once again become a digital canvas this Christmas.
The façade will be switched on on the 22nd at 18:00 hours, and the piece will be visible until the 6th of January, from 18:00 to 22:00 hours.
This is the second piece by Alba G. Corral to be projected at the Kursaal; in September 2022, she presented the installation Entremaliat, a generative art piece that created a dialogue with the building, using light as another element of the landscape. On this occasion, the artist, based in Catalonia (La Ràpita), has developed the piece called Estel (Catalan), a word associated with the stars and referring to any bright celestial body seen in the sky. The installation has been created with programming algorithms and using the technique of digital painting in real time, and narrates the delicacy of possible imaginary stars in the sky, the magic of digital brushes and the explosiveness of starry particles. As in the previous piece, the work, which lasts 7 minutes and 42 seconds, was developed at Medialab Tabakalera.
